HOW TO ARRIVE TO MADDALENA
Villa Martinelli is in the island of La Maddalena in the northern part of
Sardinia. The house is in Villaggio Piras about 4 km from the town of La
Maddalena; therefore a car is needed. The car could be your own car, or rent
at Olbia airport. So, there are two ways to reach Sardinia. Either by your
own car, by ship, from Genova, Livorno or Civitavecchia to Olbia or Golfo
Aranci, or by plane to Olbia and then renting a car.
There are many companies on the sea route from Italy to Sardinia as well as different ships which take from 4 to 8 hours to reach Olbia or Golfo Aranci.
Whether you reach Olbia by ship or plane, from there you have to reach Palau
(in front of the island of La Maddalena) in about 40 minutes. In Palau a ferry will take you in about 15 minutes to La Maddalena.
HOW TO ARRIVE TO VILLA MARTINELLI
When you leave the ferry with the car in La Maddalena turn right following the road with sea at your right.
After about one km you find a roundabout and you go straight in a narrow road.
After 300 meters you turn left where is indicated Panoramica and you
follow the road, pass a traffic light and go out from the town.
After about 4 km you find on your right the inlet of Villaggio Piras where
there are some rocks with a fountain.
You follow the road via delle Punte Rosse in the village keeping
left also when you find a big rock and you have to do a small climb.
You follow the road named via delle Punte Rosse and after about 100 m
on the right there is a wooden gate with one bouganvillea on the left where
is written " Proprietà privata vietato l'accesso ".
Out of the gate there is one of your parking at number 3. Inside the gate
there is, at the end, another parking for you.
The Villa Martinelli is at number 3 just in front of the sea. There you will meet a lady
who will give you the keys and will give you the instructions and will assist you during
you stay for any problem may arise.
In the case you get lost in Villaggio Piras you can ask for the Sporting House which
is at the end of the road via delle Punte Rosse, about 500m after the
wooden gate.
ACTIVITIES
Water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, diving, snorkelling are the main
activities in the area. It's also possible to rent a boat for the famous
tour of the islands, which is the cheapest way to visit the islands of
Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria in the La Maddalena Marine Park. It's also
possible to rent a small boat for a week in La Maddalena and to park it just
in front of the house.

Assistance
locally will be given by a woman who lives all the year in La Maddalena
and knows everything about the island. She will give clear instructions
about managing the villa and she will help in any troubleshooting.
